G. Patoulis: We will continue with rapid extroversion for Elitour to strengthen our country’s position in Health & Wellness Tourism.
The Greek Health Tourism Council – Elitour, participated as a co-exhibitor at the Greek National Tourism Organization‘s pavilion at the ITB China 2024, which took place on 27-29 May in Shanghai, China. The presence of Elitour was a great success, as it held a series of several appointments and B2B meetings with businessmen and representatives of travel agencies and organizations and made known to the Chinese market the product of Health & Wellness Tourism of Greece, as well as its comparative advantages over other countries.
The participation of Elitour with a delegation of administrative staff and doctors, under the guidance of its President Dr. George Patoulis, gave a huge boost and importance to the efforts made for the promotion and development of Health-Wellness Tourism of Greece in Asia.
ITB China 2024, the leading travel trade show focusing on China’s travel market, marks an unprecedented year of renaissance and optimism for the Chinese travel industry. More than 15,000 visitors, over 1000 selected buyers and around 250 media representatives attended the event, underlining the high demand and increased interest in the Chinese travel market as well. The exhibition facilitated 27,500 business meetings, reflecting the vibrant business atmosphere and willingness to make personal contacts over all three days. With more than 600 exhibitors from over 80 countries, the event highlighted the strong recovery and further potential of China’s travel market.
The President of Elitour and President of the AMA Mr. George Patoulis stressed among others the following:
“This year, Elitour participated in the ITB China 2024 in Shanghai from 27 to 29 May, which was dedicated to Tourism and Medical Tourism and through B2B meetings, we managed to create new perspectives for Health Tourism. Elitour with these efforts and with the global participations will pave the ways, which are necessary for us to be able to move forward developmentally for the future and Medical Tourism. I would like to personally thank the Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organization, Mr. Dimitris Fragakis, for hosting us with our own pavilion in this great mission and we are quite confident that with such actions Greece has nothing to fear and the future looks bright ahead for the promotion of Health Tourism and Medical Tourism and obviously Elitour will be there”.
In the framework of the ITB China, the delegation of Elitour met with the Consul General of Greece in Shanghai, Mr. George Partheniou, the Vice Counsul of Greece in Shanghai Mr. George Agalos, the Regional Governor of Attica, Mr. Nikos Hardalias, Greek businessmen operating in China and important officials of the NGTO of the China office, Mr. Pavlos Mourmas and Mr. Michael Michaelidis.
The Greek Health Tourism Council will carry out all necessary actions to strengthen and promote Health Tourism in Greece and will aim to link its health structure which are members with Chinese citizens interested in visiting our country to receive Medical Tourism services.
