The Dermatologist – Venereologist and Dermatologic surgeon Sotiris Theocharis is a graduate of the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a graduate of the Military School of Officer Corps, President of the Hellenic Society of Dermatology, Aesthetic Dermatology and Laser Applications and member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Dermatology and Venereology Society. He describes himself as a workaholic, detail-oriented person, with an inexhaustible passion for his medical field and a rare sense of humor.
“During the past three decades, I have been actively involved in hair transplantation, and together with my team, we have achieved significant steps in the progress and development of the methods and techniques used. An extremely important parameter that remains unchanged from the first day I performed hair transplants, is the consultation with the patient. The patient must be informed realistically and extensively about the operation and the expectations he should have from the result, but also be aware of all the instructions he needs to follow afterwards”.
For the successful outcome, the patient’s expectations must be in accordance with the surgeon’s proposed plan. Above all, I have always believed that hair transplantation is an artistic procedure that must be adapted each time to the morphological characteristics of each patient. Personally, I believe that a successful and natural result can be achieved if we consider the shape, the symmetry of the three aesthetic levels, the age, and apply, where deemed necessary, the “desired asymmetry”. Particularly, the designing of the hairline is a critical stage for the overall success of the procedure!
