Summer treatments (face & body)

In the summer, our skin needs enhanced care and regular care. Intense solar radiation and intense summer sun combined with swimming in the sea, dehydrate our skin and make it look dull and tired. The Dermatologist-Venoretologist of City Med Dr. Ioanna Tambouri analyzes treatments that can also be applied in the summer months so that the skin looks young, radiant and hydrated.

Facial mesotherapy

Proper and deep hydration is the key to maintaining radiance and youth. Hydration with injectable hyaluronic acid in combination with amino acids, and vitamins, trace elements and other factors, which have an antioxidant effect and help to renew collagen, is the ideal method to deal with dullness and dehydration in our skin and to improve the texture and its quality. Also, biomimetic peptides can be used, a promising new class of substances that help regulate cellular functions and stimulate the skin’s natural mechanisms to regenerate and enhance skin elasticity and firmness.

The dermatologist suggests depending on the needs of the skin and the age of the patients and the appropriate treatment protocol.

“The substances can be applied all over the face, neck and décolleté, in the form of mesotherapy, offering deep hydration and immediate radiance. The treatment is suitable even for young people”, explains Dr. Tambourine. Mesotherapy is achieved by placing a small amount of injectable material intradermally where there is a need for hydration. Before the session, local anesthetic cream is applied.

“It is a completely well-tolerated treatment and the substances used are completely safe and work to achieve deep hydration, which we cannot achieve with just a cream.”

We recommend, of course, depending on the needs of the patients and the skin, an average of 4 sessions with an interval of 2 weeks, but the results are visible from the first sessions

Nanosoft – New technology for the eye area

Nanosoft is an innovative certified microinjection device, specially designed for the painless and stable injection of mesotherapy NCTF (=NEW CELLULAR TREATMENT FACTOR) 135 HA in sensitive areas of the face, such as the eyelids, peri-eyes, “crow’s feet” and other sensitive areas areas such as the neck, décolleté and hands. “The active formula with hyaluronic acid and 59 rejuvenating elements, vitamins, amino acids, coenzymes, etc. aims at stimulating fibroblasts, collagen production and reducing the action of free radicals. This has the effect of moisturizing the skin, smoothing fine wrinkles and improving the quality of the skin,” points out Dr. Ioanna Tambouris.

The intradermal administration of the formula combats dark circles and improves fine wrinkles, while at the same time it is a painless and safe method without causing bruises due to the use of the special microinjection device.

Autologous Mesotherapy P.R.P. (Platelet Rich Plasma)

Autologous facial mesotherapy is an innovative anti-aging treatment in which substances such as vitamins and hyaluronic acid are not used, but the patient’s own plasma, with the aim of collagenogenesis, i.e. the activation of the new collagen creation mechanism.

First, a small blood sample is taken, as in a general blood test, which undergoes the process of centrifugation and then the plasma, which is rich in growth factors and platelets, is separated.

“The method is based on our own blood and focuses on its valuable components. Through Autologous Mesotherapy, wrinkles are reduced and collagen tightening and reconstruction is achieved. In fact, the combination of other therapeutic methods with autologous mesotherapy guarantees impressive results in skin regeneration”, states Dr. Tambourine.Autologous plasma, rich in platelets and growth factors, is injected with painless micro-injections at different levels into the skin, eye area, face, neck and décolleté. Thus, an increase in elasticity, collagen production and healing of cellular damage is achieved.

It is a completely safe treatment, usually 2 to 3 sessions are required with an interval of 3-4 weeks and the results last longer than simple mesotherapy (especially in the case of a combination of treatments, for example with hyaluronic acid and amino acids).

Body mesotherapy for cellulite

Mesotherapy is an effective and safe method of regeneration, nutrition and hydration for the body as well, which gives natural results, without being invasive. The materials, either liposolvers or substances that favor microcirculation, lymphatic decongestion and tightening, are injected through small injections into the problem areas. “It is mainly applied to the thighs and buttocks, however its application is also indicated in any part of the body where a cellulite problem is observed or local fat accumulates. Depending on the problem of the affected area and the needs of the patient, the combination of the substances to be injected is chosen”, notes the Dermatologist-Venoretologist.

The results are achieved immediately and are evident from the first sessions. Usually 6 to 8 sessions with an interval of 15 days are required. After this period, 1-2 sessions per year may be required for maintenance.
