The Governor of Attica and President of Athens Medical Association, George Patoulis, was re-elected for a second three-year term as President of the Greek Health Tourism Council – ELITOUR in the elections held on April 19th.
The electoral process took place during the General Assembly of the BoD, using an online voting software, capable of conducting elections and referendums of any scale, called ELECTOBOX (https://electobox.com/). The members of ELITOUR were greeted by the Deputy Minister of Tourism Mrs. Sofia Zacharaki and the Secretary General for International Economic Αffairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as President of Enterprise Greece Mr. Ioannis Smyrlis. They both praised the work of George Patoulis, not only about the institutional role of ELITOUR but also about the development of Greek Health Tourism in the immediate future.
While presenting ELITOUR’s development plans for the next three years, George Patoulis stressed the following:
- Further networking and synergy with both Greek and International organizations
- The connection with Greek community
- Acquiring financial tools
- Transnational agreements
- Targeting foreign markets directly
In closing, the President of ELITOUR pointed out that Health Tourism will be one of the most important pillars of development for the Greek Economy in the following years, and Greece will strengthen its position as a health destination. ELITOUR is and will remain the largest cooperative force of Health Tourism in our country and will continue to expand its important work, opening new roads and serving towards our national goal. A new era in Health Tourism begins, which marks a dynamic restart in the post-covid era.
