Before 2,600 years, Hippocrates arrived in Attica, by the invitation of Pericles, to face the terrible plague of Athens. Careful scientific observation led the great father of Medicine to identify the contagious factors of the historical epidemic, to describe the characteristics and meaning of the epidemic, but also of the pandemic, first in the history of the world, and to limit it. This comparative knowledge of antiquity and today, through the most valid scientific data, he considered the obligation of the Global Doctors’ Hippocratic Institute to share with scientists from all over the world, as a message of optimism for the victory against the pandemic virus, SARS-CoV-2, through the dissemination of Hippocratic values and the promotion of Hippocrates’ philosophy in the international medical world.
