Dr Konstantinos Anastassakis receives special recognition at the 33rd ISHRS World Congress in Berlin for his outstanding scientific, surgical, and educational contribution to global hair restoration surgery.
The 33rd Annual Congress of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) was held this year in Berlin, bringing together leading experts in the field of hair restoration from around the globe. Among the standout participants was Dr Konstantinos Anastassakis MD, PhD, FISHRS—one of only 180 Fellows of the ISHRS worldwide, a title awarded to physicians demonstrating exceptional clinical skill, academic contribution, and commitment to the advancement of the field.
Dr Anastassakis had a dynamic and multifaceted role at the Congress, comprising scientific lectures, live surgical instruction, and a special distinction awarded by the ISHRS Board.

Dr Anastassakis delivered two key lectures, presenting advanced strategies in both FUE and FUT techniques. Quality control checkpoints for improved surgical outcomes in FUE & FUT. His topics included:
- Total Combined Transplantation (TCT) techniques to maximize graft survival and safety
- Tailored strategies for complex or high-demand cases

Live Surgery Workshop: Teaching at the Highest Level
A major highlight of the Congress was the ISHRS Live Surgery Workshop, known for its technical rigor and limited faculty. Dr Anastassakis was selected as an Instructor Surgeon, guiding international peers through two advanced procedures:
- Natural Hairline Design – Demonstrating the fine balance of symmetry, angulation, and artistry in creating a natural hairline.
- FUT (Strip) Technique – Showcasing tissue handling, dissection, and closure techniques in a demanding surgical method.
Both cases attracted strong interest, with numerous attendees documenting and discussing Dr Anastassakis’ methods even after the sessions concluded.
