The celebratory event marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Genesis Athens Clinic was successfully concluded. The event, held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Conference Center of the Hellenic Society of Reproductive Medicine, provided a unique opportunity to celebrate life, creation, and continuity.
The central figure of the event was Alexandra Oikonomopoulou, who was cultivated as an embryo in our laboratory in 2002 when the foundations of our clinic were being laid. Although the clinic officially began operations in 2004, Alexandra symbolizes the vision and commitment we have had from the start. This young woman was recently hired as a midwife at the same center and was honored with a special plaque for her contribution and dedication to the clinic’s work. Her presence, along with her mother, highlighted the organization’s significance in supporting and caring for our children at every step.
Greetings were delivered by Mr. Michalis Koutsilieris, Emeritus Professor of the EKPA Medical School and President of the Hellenic Society of Reproductive Medicine; Mr. George Patoulis, President of the Athens Medical Association, President of ELITOUR, and President of the Global Doctors’ Hippocratic Institute, Ms. Ismini Kriari, President of the National Authority for Medically Assisted Reproduction, and Mr. Haris Damaskos, President of STASY and Director of Business Development at Genesis Athens.
The founder and director of Genesis Athens, Mr. Konstantinos Pantos, began his speech by warmly thanking all members and partners of the Genesis Athens family for their dedication and support. He made special mention of the newest team member, Alexandra Oikonomopoulou, and continued with a brief retrospective. “On this day in 2004, we started as successors to the Center for Human Reproduction on Kifisias Avenue 4 and offered our services to the public for the first time. The momentum we have developed has brought us to the top for 20 years. Indeed, it has been an exciting two decades,” he stated.
Genesis Athens remains faithful to its vision and passion for serving reproductive medicine. Our goal is to assist every couple facing difficulties in completing their family and to ensure, whenever possible, that a child is brought home. We proudly continue our journey, supporting the dreams and hopes of couples while placing people at the center of every effort.”
The clinic’s staff, friends, and partners actively participated in the celebration, enjoying moments of joy and emotion. The event underscored the clinic’s importance in offering life and supporting thousands of couples from Greece and abroad.
The phrase “From the Foundations of the Clinic to the Foundations of Life” encapsulates the mission and vision of Genesis Athens as we continue to support every new beginning with dedication.
