The personal interest of Russian President Vladimir Putin to strengthen the Greek Russian Relations, and amongst others the development of medical tourism in our country, was carried out by the head of the Health sector of the Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Moscow, Dr Oleg Rykodaynyy, during his meeting with the Deputy Minister of Economy, Infrastructure, Shipping and Tourism, Elena Kountoura.
During the meeting, Mrs Kountoura presented the opportunities and possibilities opened up for the development of Medical Tourism, the high level of services from the Greek scientific personnel as well as, the quality and of the existing Rehabilitation Centers in Greece.
Mrs Kountoura also pointed out, the Ministry’s existing cooperation with the Hellenic Medical Tourism Council (ELITOUR) as well as with industry professionals and added that the Ministry will instantly set up working groups for the development of thematic Medical Tourism.
Mrs Kountoura called also the Russian side to proceed, in cooperation with industry stakeholders, on the development of Medical Tourism by highlighting that it will be beneficial for both sides, and will help in lengthening the tourist season.
From his side, the head of the health sector of the Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Moscow, Dr. Oleg Rykodanyy, stressed out the Russian side’s desire for Greece to become the place where Russian citizens will enjoy high quality services in Medical Tourism.
