With the participation of top personalities from Greece and Britain, a conference on Health Tourism in Greece is organized at the London School of Economics on November 23

With the participation of top personalities from Greece and Britain, a conference will be held on Health Tourism in Greece and the prospects open to residents of other countries on November 23, 2018 at the London School of Economics in London.

The event is organized by International Health Tourism Center (IHTC) and the Hellenic Medical Society UK, under the auspices of Hellenic Ministry of Tourism, Athens Medical Association, Central Union of Municipalities of Greece, Hellenic Medical Tourism Council (ELITOUR) and Global Greek Doctors’ Institute.

Government officials and top personalities from the Business, Academic Community, Health and Tourism sector from Greece and the United Kingdom have been invited to participate.

Presidents and representatives of Greek communities, Greek medical associations, health and tourism professionals, representatives of international and domestic media, etc. have also been invited.

During the Conference, will be presented the significant comparative advantages that Greece offers to strengthen its position in the health tourism market, while highlighting the great synergies that need to be developed.

The thematic sections concern areas where our country has competitive advantages and leadership, such as in vitro fertilization, Cosmetic Medicine & Plastic Surgery, Dentistry etc.

Commenting on the issue, Mr. Patoulis, Chairman of Athens Medical Association, Central Union of Municipalities of Greece and ELITOUR, stressed the following:

«Health Tourism, is one of the developmental levers of the Greek economy for the coming decade. We have joined forces from the Private Health, Tourism and Business sectors, with the aim of making our country a steady and substantial step on the map of this new market.
Greece has the potential to be a protagonist in the rapidly growing medical tourism industry, as it has a number of advantages that allow it, such as the comparatively low cost of services, combined with the high-level scientific competence and experience of medical staff, along with modern health infrastructures. The development of health tourism also has many great benefits for the residents of other countries as it can provide them with an important framework of remarkable choices for their health».
