The Greek Health Tourism Council – Elitour participated as Silver Sponsor in the 1st Arab-Hellenic Health Conference, organized by the Arab-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Development and held at the Divani Caravel Hotel on 22-23 May. Today, the first day of the conference was concluded with the presence of Arab and Greek officials, as well as professionals and businessmen from the health and tourism sectors, including the Minister of Health Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, the Deputy Minister of Tourism Ms. Elena Rapti, the President of the Athens Medical Association and Elitour Dr. George Patoulis, Dr. Ibrahim Alomar, Assistant Deputy Minister for Health Investment Development in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Faisal Al-Dahmashy, Assistant Deputy Minister for Hospital Services at the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia, the Chairman of Board of Directors of the Arab-Hellenic Chamber Mr. Harris Geronikolas, Mr Rashad Mabger, Secretary General of Union of Arab Chambers and the member of the Board of Directors of the Arab-Hellenic Chamber Mr. Ioannis Verginis.
The sessions and consultations present the sectors of health care, hospital and laboratory equipment, rehabilitation centers, Health Tourism and the biological cosmetics industry, areas in which both sides have made significant progress in recent years. In his lecture, the President of Elitour highlighted the long-standing efforts made by the Greek Health Tourism Council for the development and promotion of Health Tourism in Greece, while a round table was attended by members of the Board of Directors of Elitour, who referred to the specialized services they provide in the fields of assisted reproduction, clinics and dentistry.
In his speech, the President of Elitour and President of the AMA Mr. George Patoulis stressed, among others, the following: “In Greece, the health tourism sector is experiencing significant growth. The investments in modern medical facilities, the upgrading of health services and the continuous training of medical staff contribute to the creation of an attractive environment for international patients. In addition, the combined efforts of the state and the private sector to promote medical tourism enhance the competitiveness of our country.” At the same time, Mr Patoulis added that Greece has unique comparative advantages that make it an ideal destination for health tourism, making special reference to the qualified medical staff, culture – history, as well as our natural wealth. Following his presentation, the President of Elitour referred to the important role played by the Greek Health Tourism Council: “We seek to highlight and strengthen the unique connection between top medical care and unforgettable travel experiences in Greece. Our aim is to promote Greece not only as a destination for high quality medical care, but also as a place where patients can enjoy culture, history and natural beauty.”
The 1st Arab – Greek Conference on Health was attended by the 1st Vice President Mr. Konstantinos Pantos, and the members of the Board of Directors Ms. Vanessa Delichristou and Mr. Nikolaos Kouvelas.
On the sidelines of the conference, B2B meetings were held by the President of Elitour, Mr. George Patoulis, with officials and businessmen from Arab countries, aiming to further deepen relations between the countries, with very positive results.
Tomorrow will be the second day of the conference, where the two sides will meet to exchange information, explore opportunities for partnerships and exchange of know-how.
