With the Participation of the President of AMA and ELITOUR, Dr. G. Patoulis, the Scientific Symposium on “2024: Year of Medical Tourism – Thermal Tourism” was Successfully Held at the REA Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic

The scientific symposium titled “2024: Year of Medical Tourism – Therapeutic Medicine” was successfully hosted at the REA Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic, featuring the participation of the President of the Athens Medical Association (AMA) and ELITOUR, Dr. G. Patoulis.

During his speech, Dr. Patoulis highlighted the undeniable growth of Health and Wellness Tourism worldwide, as an increasing number of individuals seek high-quality medical services while also exploring the natural beauty and culture of other countries. He emphasized that in Greece, the field of Health Tourism is rapidly developing, driven by significant investments in modern medical infrastructure, the improvement of healthcare services, and the continuous training of medical professionals. These efforts have created an appealing environment for international patients. In this context, the Greek Health Tourism Council (ELITOUR) is actively working to position Greece on the global Medical Tourism map by leveraging the country’s comparative advantages.

A significant address was delivered by Professor of Dermatology Konstantinos Kouskoukis, Vice President C’ of ELITOUR. The scientific symposium was chaired by Kyriakos Mitsakos-Barbagiannis, Obstetrician-Gynecologist and Chairman of the REA Clinic Board of Directors, along with George Kreatsas, Emeritus Professor of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and Scientific Director of the REA Clinic.
