Significant Institutional Meetings of the President of the Athens Medical Association in New York

The President of the Athens Medical Association (ISA) and the Greek Health Tourism Council – Elitour, Dr. G. Patoulis, conducted a series of high-level institutional meetings during his presence in New York on the occasion of the events of Hippocratic Week.

Within the framework of his official engagements, Dr. Patoulis met with His Eminence Archbishop of America, Elpidophoros, at the offices of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in Manhattan. During the meeting, the President of the Athens Medical Association expressed his sincere gratitude for the Archdiocese’s patronage of Hippocratic Week and the Hippocratic School, emphasizing the importance of the Church’s support for initiatives that promote medical knowledge and humanitarian values.

Furthermore, he briefed the Archbishop on the activities carried out thus far within the program, including the visits and educational initiatives involving the participating students, highlighting their enthusiasm and active engagement. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of cultivating Hippocratic philosophy among younger generations of physicians.

During the discussion, reference was also made to the prospects for further development and promotion of Health and Wellness Tourism, with the aim of establishing Greece as an international destination for high-quality healthcare services, capitalizing on the country’s scientific expertise and longstanding medical tradition.

On the same day, Dr. Patoulis held a meeting with the Consul General of Greece in New York, Ms. Ifigeneia Kanara. The discussion focused on opportunities to enhance the international outreach of Greece in the field of Health and Wellness Tourism, as well as on the development of synergies with the Greek diaspora and institutions in the United States.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the Global Doctors’ Hippocratic Institute, Dr. A. Polydorou, as well as the Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in New York, Mr. K. Pogiatzis, confirming the shared interest in strengthening international cooperation in the field of healthcare.

These engagements form part of a broader framework of initiatives aimed at the international promotion of Greek medical science and the advancement of synergies that contribute to growth and innovation in the healthcare sector.
