The President of the Elitour, George Patoulis, in the context of his address at the 11th Panhellenic Congress of Freelance Cardiologists of Greece

The strategy for the dissemination of the Hippocratic spirit and the development of medical tourism was presented by the President of the Elitour G. Patoulis, in the context of his address to the 11th Panhellenic Congress of Freely Practicing Cardiologists of Greece, organized by the Union of Freely Practicing Cardiologists of Greece, in Lefkada (7-9 June), under the auspices of the Athens Medical Association.

The Conference, which has become an institution, was attended by important representatives of the scientific community and was addressed by the Mayor of Lefkada Mr. Verginis Xenophon, the President of the Medical Association of Lefkada Mr. Sgouropoulos Ioannis, the representative of the Hellenic Cardiologist Society former President Mr. Foussas Stefanos etc.

The President of the Elitour G. Patoulis congratulated the President of the EKE F. Patsourakos and the Organizing Committee of the Conference for the high level scientific organization and presented the important actions that the Global Doctors’ Hippocratic Institute, under the auspices of the AMA, is doing to promote the universality of Hippocratic medical science and thought. “Our goal is to connect the Greek and international medical scientific potential under the common umbrella”, the President of the Elitour stressed.

He then referred to Greece’s competitive advantages in the field of medical tourism and the actions of the Greek Health Tourism Council (ELITOUR).

“In promoting Greece as a dynamic destination for Medical and Wellness Tourism worldwide, emphasis is placed on areas where the country has comparative advantages, such as well-trained medical and scientific human resources, state-of-the-art facilities, know-how, innovation, culture, history and environment”, stressed the President of the Elitour.

The President of the Elitour and Athens Medical Association pointed out that new jobs will be created through the development of medical tourism. “More than 20,000 doctors have left the country in the last decade. We should become the country of health, for the global patient and create the conditions for the return of the high-level scientific potential that staffs the health systems of other countries,” Patoulis said.

Then the President of the AMA and the Director of the Hellenic Intermunicipal Network of Healthy Cities, Mr. G. Stefanakos, referred to the importance of prevention and presented the important actions of the Greek Intermunicipal Network of Healthy Cities in the field of prevention and health promotion of citizens.
